Right in the heart of Provence, between the Alpilles and the Durance, the Cailloux family has been growing heirloom tomatoes in open ground for three generations, with a passion for the land and taste as their only compass.
Right in the heart of Provence, between the Alpilles and the Durance river, we found a little family-run business — a family that has been passionate about what they do for over three generations. In 1960, Grandfather Bernard and his wife began to work the land with their horses. Their sons Jean-Michel and Thierry soon took over, specialising in heirloom tomatoes grown right in the soil. Les Cailloux offers a wide range of tomato varieties — Cœur de bœuf, Ananas and Mamie Blue among others — a superb palette of colours to tempt your tastebuds. You'll find vegetables for every season at Les Cailloux: artichokes at the start of spring, followed by succulent Zephir courgettes with their distinctive green-on-yellow skins and unique taste, then heirloom tomatoes, basil and baby aubergines through the summer.
With a nod to the preservation of terroir and the upholding of high quality, the fruit and vegetables at Les Cailloux are HVE certified (Haute Valeur Environnementale — High Environmental Quality). This family places tremendous emphasis on sharing their passion and their love for the land. Very recently, Les Cailloux opened a farm shop. Lots of love from Les Cailloux!
