The Manifesto

A certain idea
of travel.

What we believe, what we choose, what we refuse.

Eden was born in 2020 from a simple observation: the most beautiful places in the South of France deserve better than a standardized listing and an average rating. They deserve a gaze, time spent understanding what makes them singular.

We started with print. An annual magazine, carefully printed, distributed in the houses that welcome us. Slow pages, full-page photography, addresses selected one by one. Neither promotion nor ranking. An editorial travel notebook.

Today, Eden expands. On the web, to extend and amplify. To other regions, so that editorial rigor does not stop at the borders of Provence. The model remains the same: human voices, assumed choices, a different relationship to time than that of the platforms.

— Our convictions

Four principles that guide us.

I.

Time, above all

We do not chase after the news. The addresses we select have existed for years, sometimes generations. Those that have just opened, we observe — before writing. A restaurant does not become an Eden address because it is trendy. It becomes one because it lasts.

II.

The human hand

None of our selections are made by an algorithm. We visit, we test, we talk with owners, chefs, artisans. Each published address carries the signature of an editor who spent time on site. This method is slow, costly — and without alternative.

III.

Territorial roots

We do not cover the world. We inhabit a few regions, we know them intimately. What interests us is not exhaustiveness but relevance. Better to know three villages in depth than three hundred in passing.

IV.

Discretion

Some addresses, we share only with our Insider readers. Not out of elitism, but out of respect for the places. A small village restaurant cannot absorb the visibility of Instagram. To distinguish it from mass platforms is to protect it.

— The model

One editorial house, many voices.

We do not believe that a single editorial team in Paris can tell Corsica, Saint-Tropez, or the Alpilles with accuracy. Eden expands through editorial franchise: one local curator per region, the same standards everywhere.

01

A local curator

Each region is carried by a voice that knows it intimately — an editor, a writer, a lover of the place.

02

The same editorial grid

Selection criteria are shared: the quality of the place, the authenticity of the project, the relationship to time and care.

03

Different voices

A Corsican curator doesn't write like a Parisian curator. Eden keeps its standards — the perspectives enrich each other.

— New regions

Do you know a region we should inhabit?

We build Eden with curators who know their region better than anyone. If you have a gaze, a pen, a just idea about a place we do not yet cover, write to us. We read every message.
