A certain idea

of Provençal happiness

Some houses have the gift of remaining true to themselves, season

after season. Le Bistrot du Paradou is one of them. Set in a former

coaching inn at the foot of Les Baux-de-Provence, the restaurant was

taken over in 2010 by Vincent Quenin, who managed to preserve its

soul while giving it his own energy. Now a true institution of the Al-

pilles, it brings together regulars, craftsmen, travellers and well-known

personalities around a single idea: that of a genuine meal, shared wit-

hout fuss.

A SINGLE, GENEROUS AND SEASONAL MENU

At the table, no menu to choose from and no empty promises: just one

set menu, renewed every day according to what the market offers and

what the chef feels inspired to cook. Starter, main course, cheese and

dessert follow one another with the utmost simplicity, in the finest Pro-

vençal tradition. You'll find the classics that make the house what it is —

soupe au pistou, escargots, a magnificent platter of matured cheeses

and the unmissable rum baba served to your heart's content. Friday,

aïoli day, remains a much-awaited ritual for aficionados. A consisten-

cy acknowledged by the Michelin Guide, which has distinguished the

house year after year.

PROVENCE AT ITS BEST

Everything here breathes authenticity. The dining room, with its ex-

posed stone walls and rustic décor, invites you to linger over your

meal; the terrace, shaded by century-old plane trees, offers one of the

most beautiful settings in the Alpilles for a long, leisurely lunch. The

attentive and warm service completes this singular atmosphere where

guests truly feel expected. Faithful to the philosophy passed on by the

Pons family, former owners of the house, Vincent Quenin cultivates a

simple vision of the craft: to offer a place where one eats well and feels

well. A promise kept at every service.
