From land to sea, the authentic
spirit of Saint-Tropez
On the legendary Pampelonne beach, Club 55 has cultivated a
philosophy for nearly 70 years: one of relaxed elegance where luxury
is defined by authenticity. It is not simply a beach restaurant, but an
art of living that begins with these words etched into the soul of the
place: "Here, the customer is not king... because he is a friend."
Behind this institution lies a visionary approach carried forward
by Patrice de Colmont, son of founders Geneviève and Bernard
de Colmont who once fed the crew of the film "And God Created
Woman." Club 55 is one of the pioneers of eco-responsible
gastronomy, sourcing directly from three family estates: Château
de la Mole, Domaine des Bouis and Domaine de Piegros. These
exceptional lands, acquired through passion, supply the restaurant
with sun-drenched vegetables, carefully pressed olive oil, and
remarkable cereals and organic wines of outstanding finesse.
The plate tells this story: the famous basket of raw vegetables,
the house signature, comes from family gardens cultivated
without pesticides. Wild fish, simply grilled, Provençal delights
such as sardines a la plancha or onion tart celebrate this sincere
Mediterranean cuisine where the product reigns supreme.
Under tamarisk trees and bamboo, seated before the turquoise
sea, the magic unfolds. White and blue tablecloths dance in the
sea breeze while international celebrities and Saint-Tropez families
mingle in perfect harmony. Here, time seems suspended, far from
the commotion of other establishments along the coast. Simplicity
is elevated to an art form and hospitality to a religion.
This quest for authenticity explains why, decade after decade, Club
55 remains essential. Its success is not due to a passing trend but
to this unwavering conviction: true luxury lies in respect – for the
guest, the product, and nature. A philosophy embodied by the
owner himself, often present to personally welcome his guests,
perpetuating the spirit of a family table that has become legendary.
Club 55 is not a destination; it's an experience that transforms a
simple lunch into an unforgettable memory. It is the promise of a
moment where the Mediterranean reveals itself both on your plate
and in the landscape before you.
