Describing the U Capu Biancu estate with words is not an easy task
as the place and its philosophy are meant to be experienced. U
Capu Biancu embodies the soul of Corsica, the soul of a collection.
A collection that has expanded over the years, driven by desires
and passions. The adventure began about thirty years ago, when
the hotel was born. There, not far from Bonifacio, facing the
Mediterranean, amid the scents of the maquis and sheltered by
a unique limestone outcrop that on the island is called... U capu
biancu, the White Cape. This hotel was conceived as a singular land
composed of equally singular rooms that resemble islets. Stone and
wood, copper and brass, earth and iron, vibrant tones and subtle
nuances all blend together.
On the culinary side, colors and aromas are also what one feasts on
at the restaurant, or, when summer comes, at the beach hut (which
can be accessed by boat). These are flavors that come, for the most
part, from local productions. Because the U Capu Biancu estate is a
story of commitment. A commitment to the land of Corsica and the
souls that inhabit it. Here, hydro-tidal thermal energy is used to save
energy. Single-use items and waste are banned. Here, they even go
so far as to create and maintain a permaculture farm. Olive trees
and other fruit trees flourish to enrich your plates. Here, a vineyard
is planted. In containers. On a stony, limestone plot exposed to the
winds. A vineyard that we have just harvested for the very first time.
By hand. To damage neither the grapes nor the earth.
THE VILLAS
Not far from this vegetable and fruit kingdom, five villas nestle in
a shaded and enclosed park, sheltered from prying eyes, hidden
behind dry stone walls. Holiday homes sitting there, near Canetto
beach. Villas made of stone, sun, and sea salt where luxury and
discretion combine with the exclusive privileges of 4-star service.
A service and comfort that can also be found at the Mill.
THE MILL
It is an exceptional house built on the remains of a grain mill
dating from the 13th century. A residence open all year round that
is reserved exclusively for a weekend, a week, or longer. Erected
at the top of the Bonifacio cliffs, as if to defy the sea and Sardinia
in the face of stunningly beautiful sunsets. It is surrounded by a
verdant garden and is maintained by a butler and housekeeper who
are as discreet as they are infallible. Here again, unique decoration
made of noble materials and carefully selected objects. Works of
art as well. Yes, we love art. We love it so much that we have added
to the Capu collection... an art gallery!
