Jean Chabaud Matériaux Anciens

In the heart of the Luberon, at the gateway to Apt, Les Matériaux Anciens Jean Chabaud has cultivated a rare art for more than sixty years: giving a second life to the treasures of our heritage. Founded in 1963, the family business is now led by Sébastien and Caroline Chabaud, passionate heirs to a know-how that combines a deep sense of transmission with a decidedly contemporary vision.

Spread across nearly three hectares under open sky, with showrooms and workshops, lies one of the largest reclaimed-materials yards in France: roof tiles, floor tiles and terracotta aged by time, beams and flooring, slabs and cobblestones, character fireplaces, pillars, basins, fountains, cement tiles, wrought-iron gates… each piece tells a story. The soul of the company also lives in its stone-cutting workshops, where craftsmen create bespoke architectural elements.

True to its heritage vocation, the company favours reuse and local recovery, and extends the experience with a second yard in Maillane, in the heart of the Alpilles. At Jean Chabaud, preserving heritage is not a pose: it is a lasting commitment, a way of building the future with the most beautiful materials of the past.
