T
he Domaine de La Citadelle, an iconic vineyard
nestled on the northern slope of the Luberon, was
established in 1990. It spans around forty hectares
at the foot of the village of Ménerbes, benefiting from four
different terroirs, varied exposures, altitudes, and grape
varieties. It offers wine enthusiasts exceptional vintages,
recognizable among all.
Deeply committed to respecting nature and living
organisms, the Domaine, certified in Organic Agriculture
since 2016 and taken over at the end of 2022 by Valérie
and Yannick Panagiotis, advocates agroecology and
implements practices such as horse plowing, eco-grazing
in the vineyards, hedge preservation, and the installation
of beehives.
In addition to its viticultural activity, the Domaine
de La Citadelle also houses cultural treasures with its
Corkscrew Museum, featuring an impressive collection of
1,200 pieces dating from the 17th century to the present
day, offering a fascinating journey through the history of
wine and its accessories. It also boasts a 5-hectare terraced
Botanical Garden, a true delight for the senses, inviting
contemplation and discovery of both local and distant
flora.
A true place of life and sharing, the Domaine de La
Citadelle has become a must-visit for wine tourism
in Provence, offering visitors an authentic immersion
into the world of wine and nature, while preserving and
celebrating the cultural heritage of the region.
The Domaine now offers two dining spaces specially
designed for epicureans. La Table Agricole Tayac is
open from Monday to Friday, only for lunch, and offers
a breathtaking view of the winemaking cellar. La Cave
à Manger ‘Le Bistrot de La Citadelle’ is open from
Wednesday to Sunday, for lunch and dinner. There you
will find platters to share, salads and many other delights.
These two spaces offer a unique experience, combining
pleasure of the senses, discovery of local wines and edible
plants from the Botanical Garden.
